On this glorious first day of May, our little SnowBird is soaring with the other angels that have been waiting for her on the other side of the rainbow bridge.

In late January of this year, we were at Lynda's when Jenni brought Snow over for us to take her home - she had just gone thru a major surgery and I honestly didn't think that she'd make it thru a recovery period....but she was the most courageous, calmest, sweetest little fluff....everyday, she amazed us with the will to survive...and just a little bit, every day, she improved.

Despite having a front leg that was deformed, either from birth or from disease and a back leg that was pretty much non-functional, she managed to follow us around the backyard a bit or go from her favorite bed to her favorite pillow in the house - she just always wanted to be close to us - she always wanted us to be within her sight - if not, she'd let us know.  She was quite vocal about what she wanted - which only endeared her all the more to us - she made her voice known - she had a way of saying "I need to go outside" or "where are you, come and get me" or "feed me" or "water, please" and her favorite little grumble growl was for Oscar, when he got too close to her - quite the picture to see him look stunned at this little spitfire and then go about his business, in the other direction!  Her space was her space, not matter where it was!

The last few weeks were a series of ups and downs for all of us - I suppose that's the nature of cancer and sadly this morning around 6:30, she slipped away.  She had a few laps of water off my finger and raised up her head against my chest, whimpered (or whispered) a farewell,  and then she was gone. I am so grateful that she left us here at home, in her own time - her little body (and mind) made the decision that we wouldn't have to make for her.

She will always and forever have a special place in our hearts. - we loved her so much.
